My name is Alex Monahan. I graduated from Stanford University in 2018 with a degree in Mathematical and Computational Science.
I’ve always loved math and statistics, so I started my career as a quantitative trader at Susquehanna International Group (SIG), where I traded index volatility. After a couple of years trading and learning about financial markets, I decided to quit during COVID because I wanted a change.
I set out to build the “Bloomberg Terminal of Sports Betting” for the rapidly expanding online gambling industry — a platform that would bring high-quality data access to all sports bettors. That vision became OddsJam.
OddsJam was completely self-funded. In 3.5 years, my sports and gaming data company scaled to roughly $35M in ARR and was highly profitable. We were acquired on January 1, 2025, for $160M.
I enjoy working with new entrepreneurs and hearing about their visions.
